Trust In God

Bible PonderingHave you ever wondered what it would feel like to be able to put all of your trust in someone? How good it would feel to know that you had someone that would not judge you, and would keep all of your secrets…

This is crazy….but you actually already have that!

Today has been a hard day for me…life doesn’t always give you lemonade, but what’s that saying…when it gives you sour lemons, you can add a little sugar and make lemonade. lol

The passage that I thought of for today when I really needed a pick me up was in the book of Proverbs. The book of proverbs is all about wisdom, and one of the main authors of this section is Solomon. This is one of my favorite books of the bible.

Yes I know, I continue to say that the bible is the best book ever written, and within this awesome book is one of the awesome book of proverbs. So many life lessons in this book, it is so near and dear to my heart.

Proverbs Scripture: Chapter 3 verse 5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.” (ESV version from

Here is the audio version of Proverbs Chapter 3:

What are the takeway’s from this Proverbs scripture?

Trust is such a beautiful word…such a strong word. These verses tell us that we need to trust God with everything that we have! Even if we do not understand what is happening in our lives, or why it is happening, we must still trust the Lord.

Not only must we trust in him, but we must recognize him. Everything great comes from him, and we must acknowledge that in all we do.

If we trust him, he will clear a righteous path to success for us. Even if we don’t know how he will make a way for us, we must still trust in him and he and he alone can make it possible.

Personally, many times in my life I have been down and out, and the Lord has cleared a path for me. Thank you Lord for continuing to be here for me throughout my life. I depend on the Lord and because of him I always remain hopeful.

How Can We Use Proverbs In Our Daily Lives

The easy answer is to read the word of God then take action. You read it then apply it to your daily life.

So you have read proverbs above, now trust him even when you don’t understand, and know that it will all be ok, and it will. Trusting him will give you a sense of supreme peace. It does feel so good to be able to put your trust in someone, and know that the trust you give them is safe.

This is not the case when you put your trust in other humans…sadly non of us are perfect, we strive to be, but that is why we need the Lord Jesus. He died for our sins so that we might live and have eternal life. We can trust in the Lord our God and know that everything will be ok. He will ALWAYS take care of us and clear a path for us.

I encourage you to read even more in proverbs. It is an amazing book.

All Things Are Possible With God

I remember a time in my life when I was having a really tough time. I was 25 years old just out of college and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I saw many of my friends and family who seem to be happy and successful. I wasn’t happy or successful at all.

That’s when I met a Mike

Mike was a Law student who lived in New York and happened to be visiting my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky. He was doing some practices at my University and we met one afternoon at the cafeteria. He was talking to a group of people that I barely knew. I was sitting by myself on a nearby bench and he approached me invited me to join them. Then he started to tell some stories about his life.

He had a natural talent to talk to people and to entertain them and also give important life lessons. We became friends fast and he noticed that something was off with me. I told him that even though I had finished school and had my degree in Social Studies I did not know what I wanted to do with my life.

That everything seemed very difficult and that I felt overwhelmed for all the responsibilities that laid ahead. I remember that he didn’t say a word for about 20 seconds and then he pulled a book from his backpack.

That book was the Holy Bible.

He went to Mark 10:27 and read: “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
