All Things Are Possible With God
I remember a time in my life when I was having a really tough time. I was 25 years old just out of college and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I saw many of my friends and family who seem to be happy and successful. I wasn’t happy or successful at all.
That’s when I met a Mike…
Mike was a Law student who lived in New York and happened to be visiting my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky. He was doing some practices at my University and we met one afternoon at the cafeteria. He was talking to a group of people that I barely knew. I was sitting by myself on a nearby bench and he approached me invited me to join them. Then he started to tell some stories about his life.
He had a natural talent to talk to people and to entertain them and also give important life lessons. We became friends fast and he noticed that something was off with me. I told him that even though I had finished school and had my degree in Social Studies I did not know what I wanted to do with my life.
That everything seemed very difficult and that I felt overwhelmed for all the responsibilities that laid ahead. I remember that he didn’t say a word for about 20 seconds and then he pulled a book from his backpack.
That book was the Holy Bible.
He went to Mark 10:27 and read: “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”
I didn’t know that Mike was a Christian. I knew that he was a good man and that’s when I realize that those kinds of things have to be shown rather that told.
That day I learned a great lesson.
When we rely on the shoulders of men to complete our purposes it’s very difficult to achieve what we want. But when we look up to a higher power we can always achieve even what seems to be impossible.
From that day and with the help and guidance of Mike and many other friends I slowly began to discover my purpose in this life.
After almost 20 years I can say that I am more happy, more successful and I have more harmony in my life. I thank each and everyday for being alive and for having such amazing friends.
